Extending reliable D-Sub connectivity from 2,000 m to stable operation at 4,000 m
What High-Altitude Environments Demand
As railway corridors, industrial facilities, and communication infrastructure expand into plateau regions, connectors must maintain stable insulation and voltage-withstand performance in thin air, harsh climates, and long-term field operation.
In high-altitude infrastructure, every basic component has a direct impact on system safety and service continuity. Connectors act as critical junctions for signal and power transmission, making insulation reliability and voltage resistance essential under low-pressure conditions.
Conventional standard D-Sub connectors are typically designed for applications up to 2,000 m. When altitude rises to 4,000 m, lower air pressure reduces the insulation strength of air. Without targeted design upgrades, connectors may face insufficient dielectric margin, inadequate creepage distance, insulation breakdown, arc discharge, or premature failure.
The Yonggui YGC-GDE Series High-Altitude D-Sub Connector is developed from the DE Series platform with dedicated upgrades for plateau applications. The series is engineered to support stable operation at 4,000 m while addressing the electrical and environmental risks associated with low-pressure environments.
The product follows GB/T 34119 requirements and improves high-altitude performance through optimized electrical spacing, increased creepage distance, and upgraded insulation materials. With 2500 V dielectric withstand capability, the design helps reduce the risk of arc discharge and creepage corrosion under reduced atmospheric pressure.
To support cabinet and equipment integration, the series is available in straight 180° and right-angle 90° configurations. Crimp terminal options are designed for 1-1.5 mm² cables, helping make installation more efficient and assembly more reliable.
Key specifications of the YGC-GDE Series are based on multiple rounds of validation testing and consideration of real operating conditions in high-altitude applications.
